The Sun King
40.06 D Flawless
The Sun King
Raising at 3.300m above sea level, Letseng Diamond Mine is the highest on the planet.
In October 2003, after more than 20 years of neglect, a team set out to attempt the reopening of the fabled mine which produced the 601 carat "Lesotho Brown" in the '70s.
In a matter of days, and with minimal equipment, three important white diamonds were found.
One of the stones, weighing 124.62carat was acquired by Safdico and cut in Antwerp to produce this exquisite 40.06 carat D Flawless stone.
The stone graced the cover of Graff's 2004 coffee table book.
