New York, June 15th, 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Master Cutter Antonio "Nino" Bianco, aged 57, after a long battle with cancer.
Nino has been working with Safdico for the last 10 years and was responsible for the polishing of numerous historical stones including the 'Flame' a 100 carat D IF Pearshape and the 'Princess Rose' a 12 carat Fancy Intense Pink Pearshape.
We will remember Nino as a dedicated, hard-working and most important, a true genious in the craftmanship of diamond polishing. Indeed, no-one like him could bring out all the intensity of the colour in a pink, blue or yellow diamond.
Nino is survived by his wife Caterina and his four children Loredana, Dario, Nadia and Sandro.
