The Icon was, from the moment it was polished at the turn of the century until 2009 where it was surpassed by the Graff Constellation, the largest "D" colour flawless brilliant cut diamond in the world.
The transformation from its origins in South Africa's Premier Mine was long and complex.
It took almost one year in the hands of Belgian master-cutter Jean Chandessais to bring this fabulous gem to an expectant world.
The 90.97 carats, flawless white fiery stone, complemented by satellite stones, the Little and Baby Safias, was first unveiled at the opening of Graff's exclusive Monte Carlo salon.
